HOW TO FIND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN
One hears many teachings and ideas, on how one can find an eternity in heaven. From years of Bible study, and listening to various teachers, I have changed my beliefs on that topic, to some small degree. In the end, I think that there are two ways, mans way, and Gods way, which is presented in the Bible in full, it is complete, and perfect in all respects as to the plan of salvation
2nd Timothy, 3:16-17
“Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.”
While there are many roads being taught, its safe to say, that using what the Bible offers, and only what the Bible offers, is probably the best way
We must have first heard about the love of God and Christ.
Romans 10:17
"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ"
We must then BELIEVE in Jesus Christ.
Mark 16:16
“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.”
We must then repent.
Luke 13:3
“I tell you, Nay: but, except yea repent, yea shall all in like manner perish".
We must then Confess.
Matthew 10:32
“Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
We must then be Baptized,
( which literally mean immersed, in the Greek language, and every New Testament example shows such. Sprinkling is not found in the New Testament as a method of Baptism. Its simply not there.There are as well 8 conversions shown in the New Testament, all are immersed as commanded. }
Acts 2:38
“And Peter [said] unto them, Repent yea, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and yea shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Taking the above steps, we are added in the Church.
Acts 2: 41
“They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added [unto them] in that day about three thousand souls.
There are of course multiple verses, found which repeat the above plan.
Our hearing of, and obedience in faith, repentance and baptism, makes us a member of the body of Christ.
To remain spiritually alive, we must observe the Lords Supper.
John 6:53
“Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except yea eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, yea have not life in yourselves.
” Acts 2:42
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles` teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers."
If we are faithful until death, the Lord will take us in.
Matthew 24:13
“But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.”
Revelation 3:21
“He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.”
The above are but a few of the verses, that discuss the Bible plan of salvation. They are the very basics, not a whole description, but enough to present the idea, and how to achieve heaven. They present the biblical proof, that faith, and works are required, though of course there is more to be found along that line of thought to reinforce it even further. In the end, I sincerely believe, and find, that its our own choice, we follow mans way, or Gods way.
I would love to hear any comments that you might have, agree, or disagree. I do not choose my friends in regards to their choices, within reason of course.
Thank you. Ron Ryder
